In September of 2014, Houston ISD in collaboration with blue collar workers, teachers and administrators passed a groundbreaking policy that protects all workers from workplace bullying. HISD school board members adopted a policy that defines “bullying”, outlines a process to address employee concerns, and provides workplace fairness to everyone. El Paso ISD has also adopted this same policy. Now it is OUR turn in Alief ISD to reclaim the promise of a safe and welcoming work environment. I HEREBY URGE THE ELECTED MEMBERS OF MY SCHOOL DISTRICT’S SCHOOL BOARD TO ADOPT THE SAME POLICY AS HOUSTON ISD TO PROTECT ALL EMPLOYEES FROM WORKPLACE BULLYING, GIVE EMPLOYEES A FAIR PROCESS TO ADDRESS CONCERNS AND SET A NEW STANDARD THAT OUR SCHOOLS WILL BE BULLY-FREE—FOR KIDS AND EMPLOYEES.” * - Select -Yes!
