Polk Education Association is proud to announce another offering of our ParaPro Exam Prep Class! This course provides current and potential paraprofessionals with assistance in building basic knowledge of reading, writing, and math, as well as how to best support and encourage students in the classroom when building, practicing, and refining these skills. The course also prepares paraprofessionals to take the ParaPro Exam in an effort to gain highly-qualified status through the district per the Para CBA (a passing score of 464 or higher is one way to become a highly-qualified Para in the PCPS school district). Any PEA-offered professional development is FREE to PEA members. PEA members are prioritized in registration and the waitlist. This course will be open to ALL current PCPS paras and provisional paras FREE of cost This is a 6 hour face-to-face class. Participants who attend the course will earn 6 in-service points. The date for this class is: Tuesday, June 18th from 10 am - 4 pm The class will be held at the PEA office located at: 730 E Davidson St. Bartow, FL 33830 A light lunch will be provided (usually pizza).
