PEA Back-to-School Classroom Management Bootcamp (August 2024)

PEA Back to School “Boot Camp”
(A one-day, down-and-dirty, basics course for help with organizing for an effective classroom environment.)
 
 
DATE:    Saturday, August 10th
TIME:    10 am - 4 pm (light lunch provided)
PLACE:  PEA Office, 730 East Davidson St., Bartow FL 33830 
 
This course will help you understand and develop basic strategies for creating an effective learning environment using:
  • Respect of students and their culture
  • Understanding the evolution of "Classroom Management"
  • Best practices of effective teachers
  • Room arrangement (maximize learning while minimizing disruption)
  • Rules and Procedures (…they are not the same)
  • Challenging Behaviors (What can we control? What can we influence?)
 
This course is designed to provide educators with the understanding of research-based strategies effective teachers implement at the start of the school year. Participants will be able to take the strategies learned in this class and apply them to their own classrooms immediately.
 
Who would benefit from this class?  Newer teachers, veterans wanting a refresher, those coming through alternative certifications, or anyone wishing to review their own beginning-of-the-year expectations. 
  • ALL PEA Professional Development is FREE for members
  • PEA Members are prioritized for registration
  • This course is FREE for NEW teachers to PCPS (as discussed at TIPS)
 
Upon completion of the course and enrollment in the NetConnect section, 6 In-service points are available.  Correlates with Domain 3 EPCs of Polk Teacher Evaluation system.
