AFT-West Virginia is seeking Organizing Activists to engage and recruit potential members to our union.

The Organizing Activist will be responsible for recruiting potential members using member-to-member engagement techniques, including but not limited to phone calls, peer texting, emailing, and postcard writing campaigns.

Organizing Activists will receive training and coaching in effective organizing practices in an onboarding zoom.

This position will be a paid position for $20 per hour with various assigned hours per week. All work must be completed during after-school hours or on weekends.

This role has flexible hours, but you will be required to meet for an onboarding meeting (virtual) at the beginning of August and weekly check-in calls with the AFT-WV VP/Director of Organizing and staff rep. Please use the drop down menu to select which onboarding meeting in August best works for your schedule.
